A Book Dedicated to Trees and Women

 

Urania, the Talking Tree

The idea that gave birth to this book was, at first, a tree.

A tree with magical powers—one of those we encounter in the folk traditions and beliefs of peoples all around the world.

Although I began with the intention of writing another fairy tale, the book gradually evolved into a literary story that narrates the life of a young woman after the inheritance left to her by her beloved grandfather.

We follow her life as it unfolds over the course of one year. Each chapter sheds light on a different point of her journey—her personality, her inner world, and her life itself.

The book speaks of friendship, the pain of separation, solitude, the choice of motherhood, and the relationship with nature and the self.

Through the inner dialogue that runs throughout its pages, the book’s central heroine—named Elpida (Hope)—reveals her relationship with the world around her.

From the very beginning until the final chapter, where the story rises into a magical ritual, Elpida speaks with the tree that stands at the heart of the land she inherited.

This paradoxical relationship guides her along unfamiliar and transcendent paths—paths that ultimately ground her life in joy and in the strength that comes from recognizing one’s own worth.

I wrote this book addressing young women, wishing in my own way to offer support—but also women in general, whose nature is deeply and multifacetedly connected to our planet Earth, which truly supports us as a mother.

Above all, I wrote it with great love for trees, which within me hold the place of the true children of the Earth.

I do not exclude, finally, those special men—like Elpida’s grandfather—who, through their own wisdom and support, enable women to make their offering to the world.

This book was written from my heart, and I sincerely hope you will enjoy it.

Ένα βιβλίο, αφιερωμένο στα δέντρα και τις γυναίκες

το δέντρο που μιλούσε

Η ιδέα που ξεκίνησε την συγγραφή αυτού του βιβλίου ήταν, αρχικά, ένα δέντρο. Ένα δέντρο με μαγικές δυνάμεις, από αυτά που συναντάμε σε όλες τις λαϊκές παραδόσεις και δοξασίες των λαών του κόσμου. 

Και ενώ ξεκίνησα με την σκέψη να γράψω ένα ακόμα παραμύθι, το βιβλίο εξελίχθηκε σε μια λογοτεχνική ιστορία, που μας αφηγείται τη ζωή μιας νέας κοπέλας, μετά την κληρονομιά που της αφήνει ο αγαπημένος παππούς της, κατόπιν θανάτου του. 

Παρακολουθούμε τη ζωή της, καθώς εξελίσσεται στο διάστημα ενός χρόνου. Κάθε κεφάλαιο του βιβλίου, φωτίζει ένα διαφορετικό σημείο της διαδρομής της, της προσωπικότητας και της ζωής της. 

Το βιβλίο μιλά για την φιλία, τον πόνο του χωρισμού, την μοναχικότητα, την επιλογή της μητρότητας, τη σχέση με τη φύση και τον εαυτό. 

Μέσα από τον εσωτερικό διάλογο που διατρέχει τις σελίδες του, η κεντρική ηρωίδα , που φέρει το όνομα Ελπίδα,  μας αποκαλύπτει τη σχέση της με τον κόσμο που την περιβάλλει.

Από την αρχή, μέχρι και τα τελευταία κεφάλαια του βιβλίου, όπου η ιστορία απογειώνεται σε μία μαγική τελετουργία, η Ελπίδα μιλά με το δέντρο που δεσπόζει στο κτήμα που κληρονόμησε. Αυτή η παράδοξη σχέση, την καθοδηγεί σε δρόμους πρωτόγνωρους και υπερβατικούς, που όμως θα γειώσουν τη ζωή της στη χαρά και τη δύναμη που αντλεί κάποιος από την αναγνώριση της αξίας του. 

Το βιβλίο το έγραψα απευθυνόμενη στις νέες γυναίκες, θέλοντας να προσφέρω με τον τρόπο μου υποστήριξη, αλλά και γενικότερα στις γυναίκες, που η φύση τους συνδέεται πολύμορφα με τον πλανήτη μας τη Γη, που μας υποστηρίζει αληθινά ως μητέρα. 

Κυρίως, το έγραψα με πολύ αγάπη για τα δέντρα, τα οποία κατέχουν μέσα μου την θέση των αληθινών παιδιών της Γης. 

Δεν αποκλείω τέλος και αυτούς τους ιδιαίτερους άνδρες, όπως ο παππούς της Ελπίδας, που με τη δική τους σοφία και υποστήριξη, οι γυναίκες κάνουμε την προσφορά μας. 

Γράφτηκε από την καρδιά μου και ελπίζω να σας αρέσει.

The Soul’s Wise Design

 

How many times have you thought about—or longed for—another life?
How often do you focus on what you believe is missing?
A different appearance, another home, a different partner or job, another country?

You may do this out of need, or out of desire—allowing your imagination to construct an ideal life, free from the lack, the problems, and the limitations of your current one.

We have grown accustomed to avoiding responsibility for our own reality.
The easiest way is to run away—to reject our personal circumstances, fall into self-pity, or reverse our creative force through negative patterns.

Yet, if we pause and contemplate the facts of our life, we begin to discern a wise design.
This design is the one our Soul has chosen to experience in this incarnation. It is the reason and the purpose of our apprenticeship in life.
It is not only karma being repaid—it is also the opportunity to transcend our circumstances.

The opportunity lies within every lack, every difficulty, every mistake we have made.

If we imagine that we were living the “perfect” life we dream of, where do we believe it would lead us?
There is no motivation within perfection, because the very word implies something finished, completed, closed.

So ask yourself: why has your Soul destined you for this life?
If you possessed everything you currently believe is missing, how—and for how long—would it truly affect your life?
And most importantly, consider whether those things might actually become obstacles to your deeper purpose.

As we grow older, we come to understand that every condition and every event in our life contributes to our evolution.
When we recognize this, we are able to make conscious and aligned choices.
Beyond spiritual growth, this awareness also brings tangible positive results into our everyday life.

You already have what you need.
And you also have the ability to draw out the deepest lesson—and your greatest creative power, which you undoubtedly possess—transforming lack into abundance.
