The Nourishment of the Soul

Every day, we concern ourselves with the nourishment of the body.
Our physical body needs food and water. The mind, too, requires its own nourishment, and for this reason we invest significant resources in education and art.

The soul, closely connected to both body and mind, also receives its own nourishment.

In our time, unchecked materialism—among other things—has led the soul toward decline and distortion. At the same time, modern trends across various forms of art often promote disharmony, ugliness, and a darker expression that goes beyond the limits of human nature and reaches toward hubris.

These forms of “art” present themselves as evolved and liberated, as bold departures from the classical. Yet, at their core, they often cultivate a dark—non-human—world, leading to the alienation and distortion of the human soul.

What is needed, I believe, is a deeper capacity for perception. The ability to distinguish between the true courage to speak about darkness and the act of glorifying it—placing it on a pedestal. To see not only what is being expressed, but how it is expressed, and for what purpose.

It is also important to preserve our personal inner space, understanding that our life and our path must be protected with respect, as they unfold through lived experience.

Today, it is very easy for one to expose their identity, their life, and their work without limits. It is even easier to absorb influences without any safeguard. And this influence does not come only from individuals, but also from structures that consciously seek to shape and gain acceptance from the wider public.

But here, I speak to you.

To you who have chosen to walk your own path.
Who thinks and seeks.
Who is not easily persuaded—because you are not compliant.

You feel the influence of words, of sound, of every vibration.

What supports you?
What gives you strength?
What frees you from negative emotions and dark thoughts?
What cultivates within you a luminous and meaningful inner world?

If we wish to create a good world within ourselves, it is essential to become aware of what we feed our soul.

Let word, sound, and image express the highest vibration of our being.
Let this be done not as a rejection of our shadow, our lack, or our weakness, but as a conscious choice.

For wherever our attention is directed, there our energy flows.

P.S.

Fortunately, the soul is not nourished only by this world—but primarily by its source.

And this gives rise to strength and trust in life.

And, as the ancients said:
“Συν Αθηνά και χείρα κίνει”.

(“With Athena, move your hand as well.”)
